Lime and garlic come together deliciously in this Lime & Garlic Grilled Flank Steak recipe. But they also pack an amazing health punch. Garlic, one of the oldest known horticulture crops, dates back over 5000 years ago to Indian and Egyptian cultures. Although limes gained popularity when used by the British navy to prevent scurvy during the 19th century, their use actually dates back to ancient Babylonia. When combined, together they provide an immunity boost, lower blood pressure and risk of heart disease, lower risk of certain cancers, and the list of benefits goes on and on. But perhaps the biggest plus, they taste great together! Enjoy!

Yield: 6 Servings

Total Time: 45 Minutes

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 35 Minutes

2 1/2 pounds flank steak
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon lime zest
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and let the meat sit for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

Set up your grill and preheat to medium-high until hot. Clean it and spray with cooking oil spray.

Grill the meat for about 5 minutes per side or until cooked through and golden brown on the outside.

Transfer to a foil and wrap. Let rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve over a bowl of fresh salad.
